The life of little Anastasios...

Young Anastasios, an angel at heart is fully devoted to God. His seven-year-old feet do not touch the ground. They continuously run to help others, to support and to offer help.

It yearns to meet the Saints that he hears about every Sunday from the priest who preaches in his beloved church. And when he runs back to his cozy home, he passes on the priest's word to his family and friends. Everyone wonders, how can a small child remember the priest's words with so much accuracy and attentiveness. Yet, for Anastasios this is something natural, considering this is what makes his heart sparkle. In fact, he improvises pulpits, so that he can preach the Word of God. He climbs on stools and preaches; he preaches unstoppably.

Let's have some vocabulary...

Angel = Άγγελος

Fully = απόλυτα

Devoted to = αφοσιωμένος σε

Continuously= συνεχώς

Support = υποστηρίζω

Offer = προσφερω

Yearns (γ' ενικό πρόσωπο) = λαχταράει, θέλει πολύ (yearn = λαχταρώ)

Priest = Ιερέας

Preaches = κηρύττει

Beloved = αγαπημένος

Wonders = αναρωτιέται (γ΄ ενικό πρόσωπο) (απαρέμφατο wonder)

Accuracy = ακρίβεια, ορθότητα

Attentiveness (ουσιαστικό) = προσοχή, συγκέντρωση (ρήμα --> attend = προσέχω, συγκεντρώνομαι σε κάτι)

Attentive (επίθετο) = προσεκτικός

Yet = ωστόσο (εδώ είναι εναντιωματικός σύνδεσμος, αλλά γενικά η λέξη έχει και τη σημασία του "ακόμη")

Considering = λαμβάνοντας υπόψιν

Sparkle = αστράφτω

Improvises = αυτοσχεδιάζω (στη συγκεκριμένη περίπτωση έχει την έννοια της μη προετοιμασίας για το κήρυγμα και την άφεση του Αγίου στη φώτισή του από τον Θεό)

Pulpit = άμβωνας

Word of God = Ο Λόγος του Θεού

Stools = σκαμνί

Unstoppably = ασταμάτητα (το πρόθημα un- χρησιμοποιείται πριν από λέξεις, για να δηλώσει την αντίθετη σημασία)
